Question: I have a few company files set up in QuickBooks Premier from businesses I started but no longer run. How do I delete them from the list of companies to open?
Answer: These companies can be hidden but technically not deleted.
Select “File,” “Open Previous Company” to see the list of all the companies you have created in QuickBooks.
To hide one, select “Edit List” on the righthand side of the screen. This will again show the list, but with a “Hide” column added on the left side. Select in “Hide” the companies you want to remove from this list and click OK. Once selected, you will no longer see this company listed, although its company file will still exist on your computer.
